>> a developing story tonight we're learning more about indianapolis fedex shooting where 8 people died. and we're

just learning the names of the victims. they range in age from 19 to 74. yeah. they were killed when a police say this 19 year-old brandon scott. >> hole. >> started shooting both inside and outside of the fedex facility last night and tonight we are learning new information that the shooter is a former fed ex worker and that the fbi actually question him last year. our correspondent adrian robbins has the latest from indianapolis. >> by the time police arrived to this fedex ground facility late thursday night. the gunshots had ended, but the grief of losing a innocent lives had really just begun. >> last night was a devastating blow. and its impact will be felt by our community. for days and weeks to come. my heart is broken over the lives that were lost. >> for now police believe the gunman identified as 19 year-old brandon scott whole

targeted his victims. arbitrarily before killing himself. >> he got out of his car and pretty quickly started. some random shooting outside the facility. there was no confrontation. with anyone that was there. there was no disturbance. there is no argument. he just appeared to randomly start shooting. we mourn the devastating loss of their lives. we're dedicated to honoring their memory through meticulous investigation. >> the fbi is assisting by interviewing witnesses and searching the suspect's home. but so far one key question remains unanswered. many of you have already asked what the motive of the shooting was. >> and with less than 12 hours. since the shooting would be premature to speculate on that motivation. >> regardless of the motive. indy's mayor says those facts won't heal the wounds caused by this senseless crime. >> although we will learn more about this case. in the coming days. and in the coming weeks,

no piece of information will restore the lives that were taken or the peace. that was shattered. >> and that was adrienne robbins reporting for us tonight. 38 people have died in mass shootings just in march and april here. some of the most high profile shootings. the first was the atlanta area parlor shootings. that was march 16th you might recall a georgia man accused of killing 8 people and injuring one other person at massage parlors. a few of them throughout the atlanta area next. we have the boulder, colorado shooting that was march 22nd a man opened fire at a grocery store killing 10 people, including a police officer and then the mass shooting in orange county in office building that was march 31st. one man went on a rampage at that facility killing 4 people including a 9 year-old boy, tragically. but it doesn't end there. we have the virginia beach shooting as well. march 26th. 2 deaths.

multiple injuries, including an officer who was struck by a vehicle taken to a local hospital. one of the people killed. there was a woman who just happy to be a bystander and the other was a man who was shot by police. then april 7th here in columbia, south carolina, a former nfl player phillip adams. he shot 5 people and then killed himself. robert lesslie, a prominent doctor was killed along with his wife, 2 of their grandchildren and to air conditioning technicians who are working there at the home. and lastly, we have last night's shooting where 8 people died in indianapolis. the fedex facility. several other people were also injured there. investigators say the shooter eventually in indianapolis took his own life. indiana comes just a day after democrats on capitol hill, introduced new gun control measures. >> while the house passed gun bills. those bill sit in the senate, washington correspondent kellie meyer has

the latest now reaction from washington to the shooting and what happens next. >> there's no question that this violence must and washington is reacting to the latest mass shooting that left 8 people dead and several more injured in indiana. the shooting comes just a week after the white house issued executive orders on gun control to curb gun violence across the country. it left me feeling like. >> we can do this. fred guttenberg was in the rose garden that day because he lost his daughter jaime in the parkland school shooting 3 years ago, his daughter jaime was a freshman while gothenburg says the president's move is a step in the right direction. congress needs to make a more permanent fix. we've got to do this. this is the year to break through this wall. this memorial was set up here on the national mall to remember the victims of gun violence and encourage lawmakers on capitol hill to enact comprehensive gun reform measures 14 years after the

shooting at virginia tech democrat senator mark warner says there's been little movement on the issue and that we can't come to least common agreement. >> something like universal background republicans like florida's marco rubio say potential solutions need to protect rights and be effective. i think everyone's that has horrified by any time innocent people are killed. and i think the answer to that problem things that work house passed gun measures are currently awaiting action in the senate reporting in washington. i'm kelly meyer. a chilling jailhouse confession from a south carolina woman accused of killing her 3 young children. >> we've been following the story all weekend yesterday. 30 year-old liliana admitted she drowned her kids at the kern county jail. >> to be clear, did you kill your children. >> so i don't want them to be further abuse. >> she made that admission at

>> nasa held a contest for astronauts to see who took the best picture of earth pretty cool. and we know the winner. take a look at this stunner. it shows a swirling majestic view of lake van in turkey. it was taken by nasa astronaut kate rubins in 2016 from the international space station. the competition was called nasa's tournament earth and nearly a million votes were cast. lake van is one of the largest alkaline lakes in the world and it has and almost

mystical appearance in the image and you see so many of these pictures from that. so, you know, the bay area while fires they'll take pictures and send them back in. that's a good one. oh, yeah. so many submissions. and this was the winner. they have a bird's eye view. i meantime, scientists say large pieces of pink. quartzite traveled 600 miles in the stomachs. >> of long-necked dinosaurs. the rocks were found in wyoming. but there's no pain court site in wyoming. so they knew they must have been relocated. the research team believes that they originated in wisconsin and just hitched a ride on the dynamo's. experts believe the dinosaur swallowed the rocks to help grind up food that they ate. these rocks were discovered in 2017. take it back to the lab to analyze and determine just exactly where they were formed. google giving a users the opportunity to watch time pass before their very eyes. google earth launching a new timelapse tool that let you explore just you know, how the
